IT'S A NEW DAWN. and it looks like war is looming on the horizon
that hesitant peace that had sprung up between humans and mutants two years ago has been lost. first came the return of the phoenix, more alive and unbalanced than ever. then came the rumors of a secret government program utilizing mutants as weapons. but that was quickly overshadowed by the deadly massacre that took place on st. patrick's day downtown. as both sides tried to pick up the pieces of the massacre, grieving for lost loved ones and worrying over what would come tomorrow, a bill went through congress, dredging up old political wounds.
nobody paid any attention to it until the bill was passed.
on may thirtieth, two thousand eight, black choppers took to the skies as black jeeps drove out onto the streets. the news told humans to stay indoors, and that it would all be over soon. they were right. with the sentinels leading the way, mutants were rounded up one by one, and brought in for questioning. from there they were assigned to a new location, all a part of the new mutant relocation act. the government claimed they could no longer trust mutants, that creating a mutant army inside a school, that mutant terrorist groups breaking off in more radical cells was too dangerous, and that the senseless murder of the president's wife had been the last straw.
the humans could not work with the mutants anymore. it was time for them to go in a whole new direction.
no one said the mutants would go down without a fight.
the mutant cure was only the beginning. THE NEW DAWN
