BOGGART:
Being Disowned
”I don’t know how Sirius handles it. My sisters mean the world to me, even if we don’t see eye to eye all the time. I couldn’t imagine never speaking to them again. This is part of the reason that I keep my feelings about the Death Eaters to myself.”
PATRONUS:
Dolphin
"Being on the Quidditch team, definitely. Its such a relief from my uptight and "perfect" life."
DEMENTOR:
The first time her father hit her.
"If the blasting of Sirius off the wall wasn't my worst memory, it would have to be when my father first hit me. He's a very volatile man anyway and I was being especially cheeky. Well he was in one of his moods one day when I came home for Christmas two years ago. I had caught wind of my father's plans to arrange a marriage between me and a Slytherin that I happened to find insufferable. I tried to talk to him calmly about it, but he would have none of it. So I got angry and told him that I should be allowed to choose my own husband because I wanted to be able to talk to him without wanting to hit him over the head with a plank of wood like he and Mum. When he slapped me, his ring sliced my cheek open. I remember a lot of blood and the sound of Cissy crying."
AMORENTIA:
Vanilla, faded parchment, coffee beans
"Vanilla has always been a calming scent for me. My room at home smells like vanilla and it is one of the only places that I can truly be myself. Faded parchment is a smell that probably comes from all my time in the Library. And finally, coffee beans. Well, I'm an avid coffee drinker and as such, I love the scent of it."
BASIC PERSONALITY:
PROUD
"Coming from the most noble and ancient house of Black, it's pretty much impossible to not be at least a little proud. Even Sirius, the resident failure (or not so resident anymore) is extremely proud. Sometimes this comes off as haughtiness, which causes others from different houses to make assumptions about me that are not necessarily true. One of the things that comes with being proud, is that I hate being wrong. Immensely. And it is a very rare occasion that I apologize, unless it is to my parents or my little sister."
PEOPLE PLEASER
"Oh, I know what you're thinking. She's one of those people that sucks up to others to get what she wants. Well, you'd be wrong if you thought that. I just hate to hurt people's feelings, unless it's in the defense of someone I love. I ended up hexing someone in fifth year because he made Cissy cry. That was my first and only detention. Not to say that I haven't done anything since, I'm just much better at hiding it now."
SURVIVOR
"How could a pureblood princess like Andromeda Black ever need to be a survivorAwards: That's what you're thinking, I know it is. Well let me let you in on a little secret. With a family like mine, you have to be. Say one wrong word and you could get a scar like mine. Do one wrong thing, and you could be disowned. Merlin forbid that you ever disobey your parents. You'd get a lot worse than being grounded as your punishment. Especially since I don't exactly agree with my family's beliefs. Not that they know that or ever need to."
GUARDED
"You have to know how to control your emotions and your actions to the letter when you're with others, purebloods especially. They'll never be afraid to exploit the weaknesses you show. Crying is out of the question. "Blacks do NOT cry," my father says. Anger is also a good weapon for your enemies. We were all taught at an early age to keep a stony face when facing something difficult. What my parents don't realize is that I use it on them as well as other families."
CURIOUS
"There isn't a puzzle in the world that I can't solve, or at least not one that I won't try at. I could spend hours trying to solve puzzles. This is one of the reasons that mystery books have always intrigued me. I've been buying "contraband" books for years (meaning Muggle books) that are full of mystery and deception. I sometimes think that the characters of such books had it easy. They don't have to deal with judgemental and sadistic family members who are trying to convince you to support a murdering hypocrite."
INTELLIGENT
"To survive in my world, you have to be. You have to know when to say certain things and how to say them. You have to know what to wear and when to wear it. It's like nobility but worse. I'm also book smart. I study all the time and spend a lot of time in the Library. I've always felt comfortable there. Trivia interests me greatly for some reason, so I always seem to know tons of random bits of information."

BIOGRAPHY:
Andromeda Black was born into a family that gave her anything she wanted. Just a year after her birth, another sister, Narcissa was born. The three sisters couldn’t be more different. Bella was the wild child, doing what she wanted when she wanted. Narcissa was the prim and proper princess, the apple of their parents’ eyes. But Andromeda was the quiet middle child that didn’t come out of her shell until much later in life. Growing up with her cousins, Sirius and Regulus, they soon made her abandon her more reserved nature that she had inherited from her mother and became a much more outgoing person. They played together all the time, though Andy preferred the quiet of her father’s study to sit and read.
Andromeda looked up to Bella with the awe and admiration befitting a small child. Her older sister was daring and bold and she wished she could be like that. But as they grew, she started to notice the faults in her elder sister’s ways. So when Bella went off to Hogwarts, Andy couldn’t decide if she should be sad or relieved. She was a bit of both for a while, though she felt guilty for her feelings. But the sisters wrote to one another constantly. And it was only a few months later and the thick envelope in green ink appeared at the window in the beak of a tawny owl. Andy couldn’t be more excited and she even managed to convince her mother to go early to get her things from Diagon Alley. While they were there, her father made a quick stop in Knockturn Alley, which Andy chose to ignore.
And soon enough, the two eldest Black girls were on their way to Hogwarts. Andy kept close to her sister, not wanting to get lost in the tumult of students and parents. The platform was home to many tearful farewells between Andy and Cissy, who wouldn’t be going to Hogwarts for another year. As she stood with her family, she stared around in awe. Although she had been there the year before, the platform was different this year. It was hers for the taking. Following her sister onto the train, she sent a final wave to her little sister before pushing past the others to find Bella, who had been quickly swallowed in the crowd. Finally she found her and stayed with her in their compartment until they arrived in Hogsmeade. And all too soon, they arrived and Andy was forced to separate from her sister.
Following the giant man to the lake, the first years boarded the little boats and soon were gliding across the lake towards the beautifully lit castle. A tall professor with a severe manner led them inside and it wasn’t long before they were escorted to the Great Hall, where they were paraded in front of the other students. She stared around the room, searching for her sister. She found her quickly under the green and silver banner. Bella gave her a smile and a nod. Moments later, the severe woman called out, “Black, Andromeda.” She walked up the steps on wobbly legs and sat on the stool. The hat was lowered on her head, and the loud voice boomed in her ears. She felt like she had no where to hide.
“So Miss Black, you seem to be very torn. I think you would do quite well in Ravenclaw. You don’t seem so sure.” Andy was terrified and couldn’t think. “But I see that Slytherin means a lot to you. So if you’re sure.” Andy felt a tiny prick of hope. “But I don’t think you would do very well in Slytherin. It’s not where you belong. RAVENCLAW!” The room became silent as she stood and walked slowly towards the blue table. She dropped on an empty seat, her back to the Slytherin table. She couldn’t imagine the look on Bella’s face. Her first year passed by in a flash. She made many new friends, but became more closed off towards her elder sister. Bella had changed and not for the better, in Andy's opinion. She had become more cold and distant, though she acted the same towards Andy.
Her second year brought the arrival of Narcissa, who was immediately sorted into Slytherin. It also brought the knowledge of the Kitchen's location. Her third year brought Quidditch, the new love of her life. She spent all summer practicing for the team, undoubtedly driving her sisters insane. She made the team as one of the Chasers. She knew her sisters and parents disapproved, but she was determined to do something that she really wanted. The next two years passed without much happening. Now she is in her sixth and hoping to become Quidditch captain next year.

RP SAMPLE:
Finding something to wear that day had been a complete nightmare. First the tutu she had transfigured hadn't been the right color. And when she had looked at the robes she was supposed to wear for "work" she had almost gagged. But she had finally decided and now she wore the perfect outfit. Electric blue heels covered her feet, along with lime green tights, a bright pink dress, and one of Grandmum Molly's bright orange sweaters with a red V on it. But after trying to walk down the stairs to breakfast that morning, she had quickly transfigured her heels to flats.
Now she skipped down the corridor, her thick curls bouncing in their pigtails. After making a quick stop in the kitchen to get a cookie from one of the house elves, who looked at her very strangely, she made her way to her room to find Bast. The white kitty hadn't had a proper makeover in quite some time and so Vic was determined. But maybe Ally would want to play dress up! They hadn't played together in a really long time.
This thought stopped her in her tracks. Or maybe Jackie would want to read her a story! They hadn't done that in a long time either. Tapping her finger to her lips, Vic bounced on her heels. Why were these things always so hardAwards: But all decisions went poof the second she felt a sharp tug on her hair. Spinning around, she faced Teddy Lupin.
"Tedddyyy! That 'urt!" The blonde glared up at him, her face scrunching up slightly in distaste. Now she would have to go take a bath. Icky boys. Rubbing the spot he had yanked, she glared at him again. She hated being called Vicky, much less Icky Vicky. "What do you want, ya' meanie headAwards: I'm very busy," she said, turning her nose up in the air.
She wondered if he was still mad at her for what she had said a few weeks ago. Well he shouldn't. That was ages ago. And if he was, then that was his problem. She wasn't mad at him anymore for yelling at her. Well, maybe a little, but that wasn't the point! This thought caught her attention. What was the pointAwards: She was busy thinking about this when she noticed the grin he was giving her. She really wanted to wipe that smile right off his face. She smiled slightly... right before she smacked him on the top of the head.
